Why My City is Cool

Ferndale is cool for many reasons, but when it comes to reducing global warming emissions, Ferndale is taking a lead! So far, not only has our Mayor signed onto the US Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, but the city has replaced all of its traffic lights with LED bulbs, they have put in a bike lane on Pinecrest and Hilton, and they are helping to promote the Sierra Club Green Cruise for alternative transportation sources! Recently, the city has also passed an ordinance to allow drivers who get 30mpg or more from their vehicle to purchase a reduced rate parking pass so each time they park in the city they do not have to feed the meter, adding another great reason to buy a fuel-efficient vehicle! We now have a committee formed and are actively working on recommendations to aide in sustainable practices for the city of Ferndale.
