Why My City is Cool

Federal stimulus funds have enabled the city of Fond du Lac to carry out energy efficiency projects.
The City's Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy is rooted in the State of Wisconsin's Plan for Energy Independence, Clean Energy Wisconsin
(http://www.wisgov.state.wi.us/docview.
asp?docid=13459) and the goals set by Wisconsin's Global Warming Task Force. These comprehensive goals are the foundation for Wisconsin and Fond du Lac's efforts to move toward energy independence. Some of the goals include: Generate 25 percent of electricity and 25 percent of transportation fuels by 2025; and capture 10 percent of the market share for the production of renewable energy and bioproducts.

The City of Fond du Lac plans to use EECBG funding to perform building retrofits to increase the energy efficiency of lighting and HVAC systems of various City-owned facilities. Funding received by the City under this grant program will pay a portion of the cost of the retrofit.
