Why My City is Cool

Mayor Claude Morgan has signed the US Climate Protection Agreement, agreeing to reduce global warming emissions in his community.

Green South Portland, formally Cool South Portland, and the City of South Portland
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program are pleased to offer Warm Home
Cool City (WHCC), a home energy audit and weatherization program for low income residents.
It provides free home energy audits and energy efficiency improvements at no cost to qualified
households. The program has also presented two free winterization training workshops to area residents and volunteers.

South Portland Mayor Claude Morgan signed on to the U.S. Mayor’s Climate Protection Agreement designating South Portland as a Cool City. The Cool South Portland Team now the Green South Portland has been involved in local outreach to educate the public and explore funding for energy audits.
